being that the number 1  so far (and seems like it will stay that way, as it's holding 53% of the votes the last time I checked) is Marvel vs Capcom 2, how would this come into fruition if Capcom doesn't have the Marvel license?

Of course, one would assume that things like said license have already been taken care of, due to said game's inclusion onto the poll in the first place.

OMG, I'm getting giddy now.  Does Capcom have the license now?  I know I've read somewhere that people at marvel stated that if they could have one game remade as a digital download, it would be MvC2.

Spill the beans already!!!  Now I won't be able to sleep :(

Capcom can release the game unless the holder of the license allow them to do so, since sega have 2 of the marvel characterrs it'll be abit difficult one, imagine seeing all them companys who has the character licenses before u start the game... SEGA ... whatever company then CAPCOM, then backbone entertainment i assume they develope or revive some games. not sure if im right, coz when TMNT came on XBLA u see Ubisoft as well as Konami logos before the actual game starts. hope that make any sense haha

Power Stone has my vote! The 10 year anniversary of this game is coming soon and Capcom must take notice and either give us a Power Stone 3 or port it to XBLA and PSN with all the goodies included in the collection! Man, MvC2 is way ahead:(

I voted for Marvel vs Capcom 2, probably because it has the least chance of happening (unless Capcom isn't telling us something   )

Not a simple port though, I want every character redrawn in 2D HD,except Morrigan (don't ever change her!!!:p ), newly remixed music of previous Marvel vs Capcom entries (never been a fan of the jazzy MvsC2 soundtrack), some new classic backgrounds based on famous Marvel/Capcom franchises.

Als add Demitri and other new characters. I always wanted to know what a midnight blissed Wolverine looked like.

The development of this game, of course, shouldn't interfere with Final Fight HD;)

Wow, this is an amazing example of wishful (and unfortunately unreasonable) thinking.  It's taking Udon over a year just to redraw 17 fighters for SSF2T: HD Remix--do you think Capcom will agree to ok any project where 56 characters have to be redrawn in 2D (and remember that each fighter has hundreds of frames of animation)?

The license issue isn't as bad as you think.  Remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1989 arcade game?  Although the TMNT license was owned by Ubisoft, an agreement was worked out between Ubisoft and Konami to release the classic game on XBLA.  I'm sure Marvel, Capcom, and whoever is holding the Marvel video-game license can work out an agreement for a XBLA/PSN release of MvC2.

Honestly, if Marvel vs Capcom 2 does win, then I would like Capcom to do the following.

1) Make sure they use the Naomi/Dreamcast version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 as the foundation for the XBLA/PSN port.  The PS2 and Xbox ports were poorly done.

2) Make sure the game has an online mode, or else it will be almost as useless as the upcoming XBLA port of Soul Calibur 1.

3) If an online mode will be added, hardcore fans will demand GGPO for the netcode.  It's doubtful that Capcom will use GGPO, but whatever system they use should meet the high standards of GGPO.

4) Provide an alternate soundtrack and bonus backgrounds.  Bogard, I liked your suggestion of using music tracks and backgrounds from the previous Vs. games.

I would also like Capcom to consider bringing Sirlin into this hypothetical project and provide an optional rebalanced mode like he did for SFHD.  I would be curious to see how (or better if) Sirlin would balance the game and compress the tiers.

I voted for Third Strike because the BC emulation from Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is not 100% and the online interface sucks.

Don't worry, I already have.  Although FYI, some in the hardcore community strongly feel that Power Stone 1 was a better game than Power Stone 2, so if Capcom does decide to port a Power Stone game to XBLA, it should be 1.

If I was a multi-millionaire, I would definitely finance an animation studio to rescan (and touch-up if necessary) the original animation frames from Third Strike to make Third Strike HD (and hire Sirlin to provide an optional rebalanced mode for that game).  Then I would use the same animation studio to draw new 2D sprites for X-Men vs Street Fighter 2 or Marvel vs Capcom 3.

That is how you dream, bogard.

with HD Remix, there will be no need for any other fighting games.

I fear MvC2 coming to XBLA cause that means that would steal all of the
competition going on in HD Remix.   SSFIIT HD Remix should be the last
fighting game released on XBLA.   there's no fighting game I enjoy as much
as Super Turbo, and a remix update is even better.

MvC2 has lots of characters and combos but to me that's not a true
hardcore fighting game, mainly just spamming supers every 8 seconds.
  :p
plus there is no skill involved in doing the team supers.  it's such a noob fest.

MvC2 is the Halo of fighting games while SFII is the Rainbow Six of fighting games.   of course the cheesiest, noob friendly game gets the most attention.

I'd rather see Final Fight be ported, maybe in HD like Double Dragon.
and Capcom holds the rights to Final Fight 2, right?  why not bring that rare
gem to the marketplace?

but beat em up wise I'd like to see the 3 player version of Alien vs. Predator
arcade game, but yeah Capcom would have to borrow the rights again.

another great Capcom game is Dungeons and Dragon SoM, which surpasses
Tower of Doom in many ways.
