I thought there was supposed to be a steam release shortly after? It's been a month. Does anyone know a release date?

We haven't begun development yet. We still have plans to do it but we're waiting for a little more sales data on the 360 and PS3 before we begin the PC version.

Any news on this yet?  I don't own either the PS3 or Xbox360 so I've been Heading over to my friends' places to play. I'm a diehard puzzle fighter fan and I'm just aching to know if i can still expect a release for PC or if it's been vapourized.

We still haven't put it into development yet. It'll probably have to wait until the start of our next fiscal year (April).

Well, there is also a very old PC version of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (not HD, and maybe based in Win95/98).

I know. I own it. And I go to the arcades for it still, and i have the dreamcast and GBA version as well. (havn't played it on PSX though oddly enough) (and i actually think the arcade i go to havn't had it for a couple of years. Every time i go with my friends recently i look for it to play with them but find it once in a blue moon)

The reason i'm asking about steam is the "Match making" capabilities. (Online play, and "public" servers)

Normally I'll avoid double posts, but since the last post was so long ago, I guess this warrants a bump.

Anyway, regarding the PC release, does Capcom still plan on going with steam? or are the considering using new "windows live games" which is compatible with xbox live?

Personally, I would prefer a steam release over a WLGames release, but it probably would be more timely and economical for capcom to do it that way.

I guess it couldn't hurt for me to actually be able to play the version I bought for XboxLive at my own house either.

(yes, I bought two versions of the game on systems I don't own...)

For the moment, we have no plans of support of Games For Windows Live Arcade (and please understand that GFWLA is slightly different than regular GFWL). I won't get into the reasons for that here though.

When we spoke of Steam as a venue for SPF2THDR, that was primarily for being a source of distribution not necessarily using their matching or other services (though we haven't ruled it out given recent announcements from them).

On the edistribution side, we actually have several outlets now lined up for distribution of future PC product, Steam still being front and center in that list of partners.

Why is this release taking so  long? It should've been out by now. I know there are many people dying to get their hands on this game! It would definitely sell more than Peggle. Peggle doesn't even have online multiplayer while Puzzle Fighter does. The console versions came out like a year ago. So why is the PC verison taking so long? C'mon capcom, this is inexcusable at this point. Please hurry up and release the PC version already!
