Release Date: Summer 2008 Genre: Top Down Arcade Shooter Platform: Xbox LIVE® Arcade and PlayStation®Network Rating: TBD Developer: Backbone Entertainment Price: $9.99, 800 Microsoft Points Game Description: 1942: Joint Strike takes inspiration and influence from the '80s 194X's series of Capcom vertical arcade shooters. The art, sound and gameplay give the player hints of the 194X series, but will standout as it’s own unique entry. Gameplay will essentially be 2D, but the game will utilize a fully 3D engine. The game takes place during a seemingly WWII like era. Locales, vehicles and weapons have the look and feel of WWII with some stylistic differences. The world in which 1942: Joint Strike takes place is not our own and the events that transpire are not historically accurate nor are they intended to be. This is a world alternate to ours where history and technology developed along its own path. Key Features

Classic arcade style gameplay with 3D HD graphics!
New Joint Strike attacks, weapons, and power ups!
2 player local or online missions!
Top Down Vertical Shooter
Click on the image below to see the screenshots on our Flickr archive.

Why doesn't Sony use the Amount 10$ rather than 9.99$? other than that this should be awesome.

I have a couple of questions.
In the original game you have 2 attacks... the normal shot and the charge shot but you use the same button for both and you need to keep pressing the fire button all the time to use the normal shot.
Are you going to add a auto fire option or at least put the charge shot in anothe button?.
It will be possible to save after each mission?.
Thanks for your time.

This is going to be sooo sick. I still play Strikers 1945 at my local arcade sometimes. Vertical shooters are pure greatness.

The name lends itself to co-op play, will we be able to play this co-operatively online?

The name lends itself to co-op play, will we be able to play this co-operatively online? Absolutely. There are special power-ups that can only be used with two players at once.
