I could see see some of those, but SF1? Really? I'd have a pretty hard time signing up for that.

A few of the others would be great but I think you underestimate how long and how expensive some of them would be to do. It would be pretty cost prohibitive given the number of characters (Alpha 3) or number of frames of animation (SF3).

Well, Street Fighter (original) for lulz. Maybe not a full blown HD REMIX, but a version of the game that's more of a game?

I haven't played the game personally, but I have heard that it's almost impossible to do a special attack, and if you manage to pull one off, it nearly wipes out the opponents health bar.

If anything, maybe just a PSN & Xbox Live release at a low price.

But the others, I'd really like to see.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 & Street Fighter 3 Third Strike...Those should be definites considering how competitive they get at the tournament level. Plus, they're awesome games.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2...The game has gotten extremely expensive (DreamCast, PS2, and Xbox versions alike). I used to have the DreamCast one but I had to sell it along with all my other DreamCast stuff to pay for college books and whatnot. But I still have my PS2 version. The game itself was wasted essentially in that the graphics could be better, and there are just too many glitches. Plus, the game is extremely popular among tournament players.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2...Similar reasons to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 except that it isn't going for as much money on like eBay or Amazon.com.

SVC Chaos: SNK Vs. Capcom...I have played this game and I do notice that hit boxes do need work. The graphics could definitely use some work and the music could also be updated. Also, the characters need to be balanced out. And the fact that SCEA canned the North American PS2 release years ago. That really ticked me off and it still does today.

If not an HD REMIX treatment, then at least a PSN & Xbox Live release with maybe some touch-ups to graphics and removal of some serious glitchs. Even better if the characters were balanced.

But HD REMIX'ing of those games would be ideal.

Street Fighter Alpha 3

Darkstalkers

Strider (I always hear about the game and I would really like to play it)

Megaman 2

Those are the Capcom games that I would most like to see remade ala SSF2THDR

Since there's another thread here for a wishlist of games to get the HD treatment, mine goes to Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara.

A perty game on its own that screams for an HD make over.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing there'd be a ton of artwork that would need to be redone and I'm also wondering if this would even be succesful or not since the Capcom D&D games probably are a very small niche market. Frown

Also, just read today on Ono's mention of the possibility of a CVS3.  If this project ever does leave the ground, my vote is for 2D... no more of this 2.5D or 3D nonsense (though SF IV is kinda fun).

I must admit, I dogged SF IV the moment I found out it was 2.5D.  Once the game arrived in a local arcade and I was able to try it out, I was very pleasantly surprised at how fun it was.  However, I still get that nagging feeling that something's not right.

It's that same feeling everybody had when CVS1 came out.  Everyone loved it, but felt something wasn't right with the game.  When CVS2 came out, I remember James Chen posting about though he loved CVS1, the 6 buttons in CVS2 was the right way to go.

If not a HD remix of the three SF titles (Alpha 3 Max Upper Version, SF3 Third Strike, and SF1) just release them as a Street Fighter Collection Disc!

Yes????

Final Fight definitely.

As for SF1 I don't see a HD remix at all, like a total remake that would be okay but it wouldn't sell well as a solo game.

One possible good way to get it, is make SFA3 Max in HD and add Retsu, Lee, Geki, and instead of denying it for once explain Mike = Balrog (boxer) and Joe = Cody under a false name. And you could create a SF1 mini game easy breezy.

How would that be the easiest way? Well you can do it easier but it wouldn't really make profit the way it would if done as described above.

Here is why. Since SFA had a lot of story, if it would start at the point of SF1, going over into SFA2 and ending with SFA3 would be really cool for the hordes of fans that have all been awakened by SFIIHD remix and SFIV. Having Retsu, Lee, Geki would add to the new factor and would add new never before seen styles of play, another way to do that is add some of the things the fans liked in SFA2, but were excluded from SFA3. But personally I'd do both a new SFA and a Final Fight game as a dual project or one after another so we would use a lot of the sprites, effects and even some parts of the backgrounds in both games. That would explain why I'd throw in for example Poison, Hugo and Hagger as well and an alternate costume for Cody and Cammy. The end result wouldn't just be a remix but a whole new version (or iteration) of two games,  namely one of the most popular Street Fighter games to date and one of the most loved beat 'em up games ever made. Some would call it SFA4 others would call it the ultimate Street Fighter (Alpha) game or simply Street Fighter Alpha Complete, the other some would call the ultimate party game a friendly meeting sensation as well as spreading the Mad Gear Gang virus all over the online world, Final Fight Rebirth. A possible way of carrying the project to the point of release:

  • SFA2 HD Remix (offering a teaser and coupon for future titles FFOne HD remix and SFA3 HD remix)
  • Final Fight One HD Remix (a teaser and coupon for future title FF Rebirth)
  • SFA3 HD Remix + SF1 HD Remix (a teaser and coupon for future title SFA Complete)

End results of phase of this setup project:

  1. SFA Complete (as good as a new game, with a continuing story).
  2. FF Rebirth (a new start for Final Fight including FFOne as well as the best parts of FF2 and FF3 but more true to the way FFOne carried itself and with improved story)

Truthfully above is only a small sample of the ideas that I have with some alternatives to booth.

Obviously the FF Rebirth would lead into more sequels if the reception is as expected or better.

Please tell me. Did above ease it up for you, like just a little bit Sven?

Some Classics: SFA3 Max, SFIII 3rd Strike.

Nice list but remember SvC Chaos was developed by SNK. But yeah I would throw Mega Man X4 into it cause that was my favorite game back then.
