There is a game that has a cult following and has been patiently awaiting a re-release, sequel, or digital release.

This game is Gotcha Force.

Granted the cheesiest part of the game is the voice acting, but anyone who has played this game will tell you that its not the story line or the amazing voice acting that drives this game, it is the amazing game play when you get into a battle for the first time.

It has come to the point where people who have managed to get their hands on a copy of this game treat it more preciously than Gollem does to the one ring.

If Capcom were to release this game as a digital release to the market under the Wii-U as a gamecube game they would sell thousands of copies, if not more. If Capcom did an HD remake they would make a lot of money.

This games marketability should stand as very lucrative to Capcom because the only reason it did not do that well the first time around was due to limited and low advertisement. I can assure you that had Gotcha Force had the proper advertisment on TV or otherwise it could have gone as strong as halo and pokemon today.

But right now the first step is getting this in a digital release or hd remake for the current gen nintendo system. Once people try it and find out how great the game is, word of mouth will get around and the fan base for it will explode. You should not underestimate the potential of this title, and I can assure you that should we ever get a digital release of any kind of this game, I will not stop suggesting it to friends family and everyone in between, and where I work in retail I will suggest it to customers for kid and teens to play and for people like me even adults. You just need to give me what little I need to help you make this work. I am not alone in wanting this.

We are the G-Brigade and we stand here to bring Gotcha Force back to the current gen of gamers. Whether it's in the form of just fan games or being able to convince Capcom to make another game or even re-release the first game(hopefully in HD). We shall stand strong. (This work for a post?)

The G-Brigade must not have too many members.

No idea if that's an in joke for the game or anime, but I honestly don't think a community for a game can have too many members. Count me in, though I'm still finding the funds to even play a version of the game.

Anything that inspired Gundam vs Gundam (Capcom developed till the PS3 installments) to a notable degree, which in turn has similarities to E.X. Troopers (Capcom developed Lost Planet spinoff) is worth a spin and support.

My ideal platform for a rerelease would probably be the 3DS (including bonus support for the New 3DS) since it can support the GameCube button layout, Capcom have a good record for online and local multiplayer and I'd like to take an experience like that on the go. I wouldn't be able to resist a HD remake or GameCube VC on Wii U release though.

Nintendo need to get that on the Wii U or the NX this year.

And yes, 3ds would be an awesome platform for release where you could battle people on the fly.

It would be nice to have another game support the New 3DS and Circle Pad Pro (just got one, pretty good!) as well. Capcom have done a good job with the 3DS hardware from launch day till now with Monster Hunter Stories looking to be their next Gotcha Force.

What I mean is that Megaman Battle Network, Star Force and Gotcha Force before it also had an anime running while attempting to appeal to people with fun mechanics and a colourful world.

Facebook? Um, ah, I don't like that very much.

Capcom has made it pretty clear with this interview that they prefer a lot of engagement on their doorstep whether it is on Capcom Unity, emails directly to their guys or something in between.

76 members just seems too small even if I've noticed that you guys are staying active even this late in the game. I imagine it is a tough sell to encourage all of you to move to Capcom Unity but it would probably be more noticable even if only 5 people including yourself frequently commented on other games you like and mentioned that Gotcha Force in passing while nuturing an ongoing thread.

My signature links to an E.X. Troopers campaign with close to 100 posts, sadly a lot of them from me though I avoid posting twice in a row when I can. It also happens to have a lot of people who chipped in who I encouraged from other sites or somehow spotted the thread from elsewhere. It also has over 12,000 views, that may speak for how long the thread has been around more than buyers or unique users but that shows that some level of engagement in the subject.

Other campaigns are on the Capcom Games Discussion board with hundreds or thousands of views as well: http://www.capcom-unity.com/capcom_games_discussion/go/forum/view/7341/17051/capcom-games-discussion

Breath of Fire, Rival Schools and HD versions of games in general are pretty popular and doing well. Especially the former which got Breath of Fire IV on PSN recently.

I'll join your group on Facebook but think you and your friends should be here too.

I could let you know on Facebook, but yeah.

Got one!

I'll probably be talking about the game more on GameFAQs here: www.gamefaqs.com/boards/914796-gotcha-force/69111366?page=2#23

Still willing to take any advice you have to share though. I've only played a little bit but am seeing a lot of interesting similarities with other Capcom games, not just the other one featured in the screenshot (has mecha battles with a meter for lives, auto reloading ammo in all modes - not too much) but also Gundam vs Gundam which I've played some of.
