Unity user, BCR2 music entrant, and general electronic music extraordinaire Robotboot has shared a video of some early "sketching" that he did when making his entry to the BCR2 Remix contest.  Very cool if you ask me.  You can go here to tell him how awesome it was.

Racketboy has an in-depth piece on the past and present of the beat-em-up genre.  It bills itself as "all you need to know about brawlers," and while I think that might be overstating it a bit, it is a very solid intro to one of my very favorite genres. 

The article is full of legendary benchmarks as well as a few often-overlooked classics, and is of course full of Capcom love.  When it comes to their "5 most timeless beat-em-ups," here's what they had to say about Capcom: 

Servbots are loved by almost everyone. They're the hidden stars of many of our Capcom games. But this particular Servbot has no color. =( Before he can fit in with the other Servbots, he'll need your help. This sounds like a fantastic time for a contest! 

Give this Servbot some real color and life! Feel free to color him in with whatever skin or color you want, or draw whatever you want on him. It can be Capcom related, for instance a Mega Man or Ryu Servbot. Or, you can make something new and interesting of your own. 

UPDATE: Just answering some questions from the comments: 1- You can add more to it if you'd like.  2- You can print it out and color it in by hand if you want, just send me a photo or scan.  3- You can submit multiple entries.

A little while back we mentioned changes coming to Unity. One of more fun things we brought up to you was new sets of emoticons. We're getting ready to start implementing them into the site, but thought we'd give you a sneak peek at a few Servbot emotes. Check 'em out above! 

It was fun making them, but we want more! We're taking special requests for emotes you'd like to see. For instance, jgonzo asked for the Zombie Servbot (the little green one). Have any special faces or requests? Post them in the comments! 

OCWeekly put together a list of the Top 10 Moustaches in Games.  Although my beard did not recieve a richly-deserved dishonorable mention, it should come as no surprise that Capcom had multiple winners, including an inarguable #1 spot.
